NDIS funding may be accepted as payment for clients who are self-managed or plan-managed NDIS participants. Please advise us if you intend to use NDIS funding so that we can send you a service agreement.
Medicare rebates may apply but there are limitations to this, and an out-of-pocket fee will still apply (see APS website for detailed explanation). Information about claiming Medicare rebates can be found on the Services Australia website.
Private health rebates may apply, please contact your insurance provider for more information about what entitlements you may have.

The Liminal Space strongly believes that every Australian should have access to quality mental health care, regardless of their financial situation. That's why we charge significantly lower than the fee of $311 or $315 per session, as recommended by the Australian Psychological Society (APS) and the Australian Association of Psychologists Inc (AAPi) respectively.
Our commitment is to providing clients with the best possible care, which extends beyond the time spent in session. We dedicate time to improving clinical skills and knowledge, remaining up to date on current best practice and ethical standards, and responding to emails and phone calls. A portion of each session fee covers this additional work.
As psychologists, we adhere to a Code of Ethics that mandates ongoing professional development and self-care. This Code also stipulates that we must manage any undue stress, including financial stress, to maintain our ability to provide effective treatment. To support these ethical obligations, a portion of each session fee is allocated towards covering these costs.
We prioritise avoiding situations where unpaid invoices accumulate. We do this by pausing, postponing, or cancelling upcoming appointments to prevent undue financial stress for clients, and allow time to arrange a solution. In rare situations, ongoing outstanding fees may result in the debt being referred to a collection agency. There is a strong preference for avoiding such a situation, and we will make all efforts to work with clients to resolve outstanding fees.
The Liminal Space has the same fee and cancellation policies for all clients, as we believe it is fair for the cost of treatment to be the same irrespective of funding arrangements.
If you need to cancel or postpone your appointment, please give at least 2 business days' notice, otherwise you will be charged the cost of the session. We understand that sudden illness and unexpected emergencies can arise, and in these circumstances, we may waive the cancellation fee.
We value our psychology sessions and the work we do together, and when we dedicate a regular session space to you, we commit to that session space. Regular bookings are a responsibility shared by both the clinician and the client. This represents a decision to commit to treatment, which is an important part of starting therapy and is beneficial towards a sense of stability and security. Evidence-based practice indicates that having a regular schedule of sessions is important for achieving optimal outcomes and avoiding undue stress for clients. This is why a regular schedule is important for the work we do together.
Frequent cancellations and rescheduling may make it difficult to offer ongoing regular session bookings, as this ensures fairness to clients on the waiting list. We do not offer ad hoc bookings because they do not provide a regular session schedule.
Please know that Medicare and private health funds do not cover cancellation fees, which means clients are liable to cover the entire cost personally. If you are using a different funding option and are unsure if your fees would be covered in the event of a cancellation, please check with your funding provider.
